Members of UNISON’s Executive had a very productive meeting with the Head of Children and Family Services, during which they discussed the Council’s response to the new rules for transparency in the family courts (which may lead to local social workers being publicly named) and the Council’s response to the Ofsted inspection. The Head of Service has agreed to consider UNISON’s national guidance on the naming of social workers in court judgments. A copy of UNISON's guidance can be viewed below. He’s also agreed to identify the best forum through which your Branch can contribute to the implementation of the Ofsted improvement plan. There will now be regular meetings with the Head of Service so if there is anything that you would like us to raise on your behalf contact either Denise Pentith on dpentith@westberks.gov.uk or David Lowe (Branch Secretary) on dlowe@westberks.gov.uk. ![]()
