As you know, councillors recently took the decision to reduce our redundancy multiplier, despite the best efforts of hundreds of staff and UNISON to maintain the status quo. We estimate that this cut will cost each member of affected staff over £1,500 at a time when they need it most, and in a climate where redundancies are likely.
UNISON is of the view that this decision is the latest in a succession that don’t recognise the contribution over and above the terms of their contract that staff make to the effective running of the Council.
So that we can understand what the impact of this decision might be on how our members feel, we’re running a short survey that seeks to measure your extra working hours, how you feel about working for the Council and to get an idea of how these things may change as a result of the multiplier decision.
It won’t take more than 5 minutes to complete, and your responses will be anonymous. Please help us to help you.
