2/10/2015 0 Comments Your Branch Needs YouSome of you will have recently been informed of the unwelcome news that you are at risk of redundancy and it has also been made clear that after public consultation relating to cuts in front line services more staff will be in this position in the New Year. The Personnel Committee are meeting on Monday 5th October at 2.30pm in the Council Chamber, Market Street to decide whether the redundancy multiplier used to calculate redundancy payments will be reduced from 2 to 1.5 from the 1st December 2015 and again from 1.5 to 1 on 1st December 2016. Clearly this will result in a significant reduction in the redundancy payments that Members would receive and this is something you need to consider carefully if you are thinking of volunteering for redundancy.
It would really help make UNISON’s case if as many of you as possible could spare the time to come to the meeting as a show of support. The meeting is being held in the Council Chamber at Market Street on Monday 5th October at 2.30pm.
